Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
The children were sleeping in the crib and I was strapped to a baby on my back. Ha! The house was getting closer to finishing, but the project was still a distance to go. The project would require time, money and my favorite shopping for furniture to decorate this home. My three sons and I searched for hidden gems while going to estate sales in order to help keep my spending under control. Our routine was to walk around garage sales and auctions on Sundays and Saturdays, and buy a variety of pieces old and newly made. It was my job to spend the day in the driveway painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I got my passion for restoration. I kept on restoring furniture even after we had completed the renovation of our home. At the local market, I rented a small area and then sold a few items. Eventually, my collection grew so large that the room I had was inadequate. In my own home, I started hosting open houses, where over 1000 guests could visit to purchase anything they wanted on the first floor in just one weekend. Growing Days is the result from this. Growing Days wasn't just a thriving business but as well my family. It was a balance between starting a business as well as being a mom. Growing Days just seemed to work. My sweet Nora was born in 2013 and was our 4th child. The direction of my business was great, but I needed to get some down time. I decided to take a break from making vintage furniture, and also slowed my pace to be at home to take care of the kids. The time was right. The phone rang again after some time. People contacted me asking to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. They had mainly attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. While I was working, I added clients to my list one by one. But it wasn't long before I had multiple clients and ran an extremely successful business of home renovation. Had you told me my venture would end up being the premise for a DIY Network show, I might have laughed. If I think at it, it has made me smile.
